CareerQuest and The Travel Institute are third-party educational resources for the beginning Home-Based Travel Agent/Independent Contractor.  The following information is from www.careerquesttraining.com and completion of the program below (or similar "TRIP" program through The Travel Institute www.thetravelinstitute.com or through an accredited college) is required* to join The Travel Society.

The following is an example of the program offered by Career Quest:

Independent Contractor & GDS Program

The Independent Contractor program consists of three sections

  • Basic Travel Industry Instruction
  • 25 hours of GDS Computer Training (The Travel Society utilizes the Apollo GDS)
  • Step-by-Step Instruction on how to start your own home-based agency

Upon successful completion of the program, the student will receive a transcript of his or her grades and will be awarded a Certificate of Completion. 

(note: let Career Quest know you were referred by The Travel Society and you'll receive $100 off your tuition cost!)

Upon completion of Section 4, you can begin your Apollo GDS training.
