Beware Viator
I have one client whose tours that I booked through Viator just cancelled. They are suppposed to go to the Rijksmuseum tomorrow but couldn't download their ticket. They called and were told that it was cancelled. I then called to confirm and was told that it was NOT cancelled but when I tried to use the QR code to get the tickets it would not work. Almost immediately after that I got an email saying the tour cancelled. I then called and they confirmed that they could no longer book that option with that company.
My poor clients - they had the same thing happen with tickets to Anne Frank House a few months ago - I thought it was a fluke but no, it seems like it is either that these clients have horrible luck, or more likely, that Viator is TERRIBLE!
i have had pretty good luck with them, but once or twice, tours have been cancelled. That is very strange that just a ticket bought through the website did not work. I would normally just have a client go to the website for a museum or whatever directly. I have not looked much at it yet, but the Context tours maybe will be a good option as compared to a more expensive DMC. the thing is that they are a clearing house for all types of companies
i asked Chris and this is what he just said. I have not tried it yet.
if you send a link to a client, and they book, you still get credit (providing they book within 30 day, as that is the life-span of the cookie).
