my son just completed the Venice exemption form. thought i would share his experience
It took roughly 10-15 minutes to complete. A little confusing. But basically you have to pay a fee and fill out form, unless you are staying in Venice, in which case the fee is taken care of by tourist tax at hotel, but we still had to fill out the form to get an exemption on the fee. You input some basic information, and there’s a place where it looks for the hotel name (it came up twice for some reason, so I just randomly chose one of them). It allows you to then add other people in your party.
You need to know name, birthday date, birth location for each person. And you need access to email address to do the authentication.
When you are done, it generates QR codes for each person which you can download and/or send via email.
The whole process has to be completed within 15 minutes for some reason (there was a countdown timer). It took me 12 minutes or so, and that included reading a bunch of the FAQ materials on the website.
