Family vacation in the U.S.
I have a family that would like to vacation near a lake or an ocean in August. They prefer a house with 4-6 bedrooms.
Montana, the Carolinas, Maine? Does anyone have any suggestions?

Maine would be great but the ocean is very cold even then.There is a nice resort called Samoset there. Carolinas look at Kiowah or Sea Island or smaller islands.You don't mention the ages of the kids so that affects your choice. Virginia Beach we went to years ago and it was lots of fun. Clients went to South Seas Plantation in Florida last summer and loved it
