A new Scam I just heard about

I have a client who is in the housebuying business and like certain kinds of travel.

As most of you know, Money wires are also common with Safaris.

This is scary. So Money wire account numbers were caught, in an email, in cyber space in transit. That email was altered (changing the account number and the phone numbers with it) And nearly $100K was lost. Thank heaven I learned abou this second hand, but this could easily apply if a vendor sends you money wire instructions or if you send them to a client. So, the fix is to have a pre-established phone number that you know is safe where the money wire details can be verified. This has to be a known established number, because if an account number can be changed in an email, so can a phone number. Crazy, hunh? Wow.
