Chiang Mai Thailand - Elephant Sanctuary

I have a new client heading to Thailand this fall, it's a low-budget client. She was gifted some money from the non-profit she works at to get away, so I'm trying to help her with her budget. Since I'm a new agent and haven't booked Thailand before, I'll take any tips. She's hoping to visit an elephant sanctuary (stay a few nights) then spend a few weeks at a island beach stay. If you have any tips for best way to fly there from Denver and budget stays. Thanks everyone!

I second Intrepid, I work with them often and they have great itineraries. If the client doesn't want to do a small group, I recommend Elephant Nature Park and Chang Chill for sanctuaries. Thailand is really affordable, you can easily fly between BKK, Chiang Mai, and the south or if her budget is really tight, there is an overnight train between BKK and Chiang Mai. It's not an amazing experience but its super cheap and an adventure. For beachy areas in the south, Phuket, might be your best option for variety.
