Uniworld Fam - I just returned from a Uniworld fam trip on the S.S. Maria Theresa from Vienna to Budapest. This is the first all-travel agent fam cruise that Uniworld has done. A very large contingent of the sales force traveled with us as well.

This was my first time to experience Uniworld but I have many very loyal "Uniworld clients".

The ship was nice. Had all the bells and whistles you would want. Staterooms are small unless you opt for a suite. Nice amenities in the rooms. Heated bathroom floors and towel racks. Large windows in the bedroom area. Indoor swimming pool with wave machine. Theatre. Spa. Weight room - small, but well used.

The food was amazing. Great chef staff, sommelier and drink staff. Lots of fancy drinks and a very good variety of labels. Nobody was disappointed with the food offerings. One night they do a progressive dinner for 24 guests. It is a combination tour of the ship and dining experience. One course is served in the laundry room, one in the captain's area and so on. The people that experienced this said it was well worth it and you should mention to your guests as it is a first-come, first-served experience you sign up for once onboard.

The shore excursions were very nice, but this was a disappointment to the travel agents. First time Uniworld has done this and they had serveral options for only 24 guests. After trying three different ways of making it fair for everyone to try something - many agents got all of them and many agents got none. Left a bad taste in the agent's mouth as there is fear that this might happen to our clients. Also, we did not get the daily schedule until one or two days prior.....so a little difficult to plan your days, spa treatments and things to do on your off time.

The staff could not have been nicer, more friendly or more accommodating. Being the first cruise of the season there were a few operating glitches, but I am sure those will be fixed for the clients we send.

Overall a very nice experience. We were joined by our sales rep, Jennifer Hunter. Most of you remember the previous rep was Nicole Hunter, her mother. She is new but getting in the groove.

I was honored to be asked to join and thank the Travel Society and Uniworld for the opportunity.
