Implementation Updates
The Sabre migration continues to be on track and we are currently focusing on four main tasks:
1) Profile Migration
We are currently working on understanding how Profiles (BAR & PAR) will be migrated to Sabre
Please note:
A BAR in Apollo/Smartpoint is the equivalent to a Corporate Profile in Sabre.
The BAR should only include Corporation details.
The BAR should not include a Name Field (not even a never move Name Field).
If there is a name field in the BAR, the profile will be migrated as a Traveler Profile in Sabre.
No traveler data should be in a BAR.
A PAR in Apollo/Smartpoint is the equivalent to a Traveler Profile in Sabre.
A Traveler Profile should be for one traveler only
Partners and/or children should have their own Traveler Profile
Partners and/or children information in the remarks field of the Apollo PAR will be in the remarks/other section in the Sabre Traveler profile
Any credit card information in a phone or remarks field will not be migrated to Sabre
In Sabre:
Level 0 = the Agency Profile
Level 1 = the Corporate Profile
Level 2 = the Travelers Profiles that can be associated under level 1 the Corporate Profile
2) PNR Migration
We are also working on understanding the migration of live and past PNRs to Sabre.
We will be testing to ensure that all functionality and information remain in the records.
PNRs with retention lines will be migrated; however, they will NOT have vendor locators.
PNRs with one or more segments with an invalid carrier or a carrier that is not a Sabre Participant like ZZ will be rejected.
For best results, all schedule changes should be worked before the PNR migration.
Once a PNR has been migrated to Sabre, any changes to the flights need to be made in Sabre.
Once the PNR has been migrated if you need to make a change to a car or hotel, you will need to contact the vendor directly.
Apollo tickets can be exchanged in Sabre.
3) Security
Sabre offers enhanced security options to protect your business.
Global Security limits access to records to only advisors with the correct access codes (hard coded).
This will prevent any accidental cancellations of/amendments to your records.
In order to implement Global Security, Suzy will need to build a new EPR (Sabre access for all members).
The new Sabre access will allow you to enter the Sabre environment through a “Doorway” PCC, before emulating into an “Active” PCC where you will be able to make your bookings in a protected environment.
Suzy will reach out shortly with more details on your new access.
4) Scripts
We are currently reviewing all the additional functionality and scripts that will need to be developed and implemented for a smooth transition.
On January 28, the Migration Team will meet with Sabre to review the implementation of Scripts specifically for our The Travel Society users.
We are also reviewing additional Red Apps that are designed to enhance the Sabre experience and increase your productivity.
This process is still in the discovery stage, and we will have more details to share shortly.
Processes
Sabre Installs
Suzy and Lisa are currently working on installing Sabre on the computers of the second wave of adopters.
By the time the third wave is ready to migrate to Sabre, we will be on the “Cloud-Based” platform, so installs will not be needed.
Training
Training for Sabre is broken into two sections: “Self-Paced” training and “Instructor Led” training
Self-Paced training consists of 38 Self-Paced Training Lessons which takes an average of 14 to 16 hours to complete.
You will not need access to the Sabre GDS to complete the Self-Paced training, but you will need a log-in.
Self-Paced training must be completed before you begin the Instructor Led training.
Suzy will be reaching out with details on how to access the Self-Paced training shortly.
Instructor Led training consists of 20 hours of classes led by a Sabre expert.
The classes are spread out over 2 weeks (Monday-Friday) for 2 hours per day.
The second cohort of Sabre Adopters will begin their training on February 17.
The third cohort of Sabre Adopters will begin their training on March 3.
There will be one final opportunity for classes starting March 31 - this will be your last chance to take the Instructor Led course.
Floor-Walking - once you are live in Sabre a team of experts will be on call to watch you work, and lend a hand as needed. Details on the Floor-Walking program and how to open a case will be shared when you are ready to go live.
Society-SABRE is the latest "Chat Room" in the Forum. This is your place to ask questions, share ideas and support each other during this migration.

FAQs
Global Security is a security function that defines who can view a PNR in Sabre.
The feature will permit us to determine which agent(s) can have access to specific PNRs.
For example:
Only the advisor that booked the PNR can access or service that PNR.
Access to a PNR can be given to multiple advisors based on specific criteria and account coding.
Sabre has a feature at time of ticketing that matches the address in the PNR with the billing address of the credit card that is being charged. This can be overridden with the format of CC/PC.
